Wolf WR3 Cosworth V8 F1 Theodore Racing 10° German GP Hockenheim 1978

With Keijo (Keke) Rosberg, a completely unknown face entered the big stage of Formula 1 in 1978. After three karting championships and countless races in various Formula classes, Keke entered the top class of motorsport with the Theodore Racing Team. But with the Theodore TR1, which was regarded as problematic, the Finn was unable to achieve a useful result. In his first race at Kyalami, he had to park his car due to engine failure. In the following four Grand Prix he failed to make it through qualifying. After a short excursion to the ATS Racing Team, Rosberg returned to Theodore Racing for the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring. There, the TR1 had been retired in the meantime and replaced by a Wolf WR3 from the previous year. Starting from 19th place, Keke profited from numerous retirements. Of the 24 starters, only 11 saw the chequered flag in the end. With a 10th place, he recorded the best result of an unsuccessful debut season. And nevertheless, this was the starting signal for a great Formula 1 career that culminated in 1982 with the world championship title.
